June 19, 2020

Starting June 27th Transfer Sites will again be charging $2.00 per bag and the limit of two bags per person will be withdrawn.

To comply with physical distancing protocols as required with the Covid-19 world pandemic staff will not be handling cash or stamping the blue waste permit cards.

Residents will be requested to place correct change into a secure lock box or personally mark their own cards with a bingo dauber or black permanent marker. Staff will provide direction and guidance through this new and hopefully temporary process.

Also, at this time at Berndt Road Transfer Site, the ability for residents to be charged by the cubic metre for waste will be suspended.  This is to eliminate the exchanging of cash.  It is also noted that within a cubic metre with a fee of $12.00, as many as twenty regular garbage bags could be brought to the site at a much lower rate than the $2.00 a bag charge.

Council has also suspended leaf and yard waste until operating licence conditions can be met and a new fee structure that reflects the actual cost of disposal can be implemented.  Residents are asked to take leaf and yard waste to Ottawa Valley Waste Recovery Centre. Please call for proper disposal directions 613-735-7537 or practice home composting.

Monday to Friday 7 a.m. To 5 pm.

Saturday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Thursdays only 7 a.m. To 6:30 p.m. Until August 27th.

The Berndt Road Transfer Site is now on Summer hours:

Monday 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Wednesday 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Saturday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Sunday 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Large Item Days are planned for August 8th through to the 15th at the Berndt Road Site and Ottawa Valley Waste Recovery Centre.  This year residents will receive a coupon in their up coming tax bill along with instructions for large item drop off.  The event this year will provide residents with multiple days that large items can be dropped off.

The Township asks residents and visitors to be patient at the transfer sites and respect social distancing.
