Finally, we have received much needed rain, things were looking pretty dry; hopefully, it was enough to save crops and make the grass green again.

The Township is looking for your input for our Strategic Plan survey. The surveys are available online at  http://nalgonawil.com/2020/07/31/community-survey/ and Facebook at  https://www.facebook.com/North-Algona-Wilberforce-Township-697024280319997/. Hard copies are also available at the Township office.  You are also invited to come out to the Rankin Community Centre on August 12th at 6:30 p.m. and provide your comments.  Unfortunately, due to covid-19 restrictions space is limited.

Council has committed to road rehabilitation on Royal Pines Road which has now started.  By the end of August almost four kilometers of road will be repaired and resurfaced.

The Township office remains open with a service window allowing residents to do business without come into the office. This system has been in place for a couple of weeks and from resident feedback it is working great!

Don’t forget our large item (bulk) day starting on August 8th and running until the 15th at the Berndt Road Transfer Site, 219 Berndt Road Golden Lake and the Ottawa Valley Waste Recovery Centre, 900 Woito Station Road.  Coupons for the event were mailed out with the 2020 final tax bills.

We have adjusted our fire risk level and will now be allowing night-time burning of brush piles (6’ x 6’ x 6’ maximum). Permits are required and may be obtained at www.naw.burnpermits.com. Restrictions and requirements for burning are available on the burn permit site. Small campfires are permitted so it is a good time to sit around the fire with social distancing and roast some marshmallows.  Get out and enjoy the summer, it soon will be fall!

Stay safe, stay cool, stay hydrated and enjoy the outdoors.
