Library Services in Provincial Shutdown
Eganville, ON, December 30, 2020 – As the Province prepares to enter a period of shutdown, Bonnechere Union Public Library has modified its services to comply with the changes in restrictions. While the library offers many online services, the only in-person service to continue will be curbside pickup. Starting January 6th, patrons can place items on hold through our catalogue (https://bonnechere.biblionix.com/catalog/), phone (613-628-2400), or email (email@example.com) and pick them up during curbside pickup hours. Scheduled curbside pickup will be offered on Wednesdays and Thursdays 10:30 am – 5:30 pm. Phonelines will be open during these hours, as well as on Tuesdays and Fridays from 10:30 am – 4 pm.
Materials will continue to have the same loan periods and can be renewed twice if they have not been placed on hold by anyone else. A maximum of 10 materials can be placed on hold at a time and fines will accrue as per usual. Returned items will continue to be quarantined after they are removed from the patron’s account.
We continue to encourage patrons to take advantage of the many digital resources and services we have available:
- Virtual programming
- Ebooks and audiobooks
- Kids databases
- Research databases
- Telephone and Email service to answer questions and manage accounts
- Custom reading selection bundles (Not sure what you or your family should read next? We can supply you with some suggestions in the form of a book bundle based on your favorite genres and/or themes!)
- Print services (print jobs of less than 10 pages and black and white ink can be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org. A scheduled pickup time will be set.)
If you don’t have a library card, just give us a call and we’ll set you up.
At this time, we are not permitted to have people in the Library for computer appointments, or browsing, but our Wi-Fi is always available in our parking lot. If you would like assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact us at 613-628-2400, starting on January 5th.
The Library’s Facebook page will be updated regularly with the latest information. The Bonnechere Union Public Library wishes everyone a safe and healthy new year!
