County of Renfrew Notified of Positive Case of COVID-19 in Resident at Miramichi Lodge
Pembroke: Administration at the County of Renfrew which operates Miramichi Lodge was notified Sunday evening of a positive COVID-19 test result involving a resident at the Lodge who lives on Home Area 3A. The resident had been isolated at the Home since staff learned the individual had come in contact with a person who tested positive.
Out of an abundance of caution, Miramichi Lodge is testing all residents and employees. All general visits to the Home remain suspended, however designated essential caregivers are still permitted; one per resident per visit.
“This is unfortunate news and we sincerely wish the resident a speedy recovery and are hopeful that no other residents or staff test positive,” said Warden of the County of Renfrew, Debbie Robinson, who added that rigorous infection management practices and procedures remain in place at Miramichi Lodge.
“The health and safety of our residents and our employees remain our top priority. We continue to follow the advice of our colleagues at Public Health and are following all provincial guidelines to ensure our people are protected while providing care and delivering essential services to our residents”, said Director of Long-Term Care, Shelley Sheedy.
The County of Renfrew thanks the community for its understanding during this difficult time and assures the public it is continuing to make decisions in the best interest of our residents and staff to ensure their health and safety is first and foremost.
