Community registration for Doors Open Ontario 2022

is now open!

The Ontario Heritage Trust launched Doors Open Ontario 20 years ago to encourage Ontarians to explore and discover the province’s heritage. In 2022, we’re welcoming Ontarians to rediscover their favourite heritage spaces, and to do that, we’re inviting communities again to host in-person Doors Open events on a weekend from April to October.

Let’s work together to reopen Ontario’s doors so that we can rediscover what makes our communities special and interesting and explore the province’s heritage sites once more.

When you host a Doors Open Ontario event in your community, you encourage locals and visitors alike to discover your cultural and natural heritage sites – for free. These events celebrate your community’s identity, build interest in Ontario’s heritage, and drive cultural tourism and economic development opportunities. This will help to support the cultural and economic recovery across Ontario.

Please complete the online Expression of interest form (under Host an event) by January 14, 2022 to indicate your interest in participating in Doors Open Ontario 2022.

The Trust will also host two informational sessions over Zoom for interested communities in the next several weeks:

  • November 25 at 2 p.m.: For those partners involved in the digital program over the past two years, we’ll share our 2021 results with you.
  • December 2 at 2 p.m.: For those communities who may be new to Doors Open Ontario and looking to get involved.

Please RSVP to David Leonard with your interest in attending either session.

Note: Thanks to the support of our sponsors, there is no registration fee required to participate in Doors Open Ontario 2022.

Please contact us if you have any questions regarding participation.

The Trust is grateful to Doors Open Ontario presenting sponsor TD Bank Group and Destination Ontario for its support.
