(PEMBROKE, ON) – New Provincial Constables (PC) have recently joined the ranks at
the Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).
Included among the newest members of the UOV OPP Detachment are PC Hunter
Adams and PC Jared Moore.
PC Adams served three years with the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) as a Military
Police Officer before becoming a member of the OPP. Originally from the Thornton,
Ontario area, he was posted to Petawawa with the CAF and became interested in a
policing career with the OPP. He looks forward to living and policing in the Ottawa
PC Moore is from the Dufferin County area of Ontario. He is graduate of the University
of Guelph-Humber and earned a diploma in Police Foundations and a degree in Justice
Studies. PC Moore is looking forward to his new career in policing with the UOV OPP.
The UOV OPP Detachment’s new officers have each been assigned a coach officer and
have commenced their one year probationary period in late September.
The OPP actively recruits and interviews potential candidates throughout the year.
Upon successful completion of the recruitment process, each provincial constable
recruit must successfully complete the required training programs at both the Provincial
Police Academy and the Ontario Police College. For more information on the OPP
