SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE NEEDED

We are looking for someone to come forward to be the head of the scholarship committee for local students who apply for this through the centre, and other volunteers to fill the committee. If you are interested in helping with
this please contact Jessica at 613-639-5686. Schools need to be provided with the information in October, so this is a time sensitive need!

Our meetings continue monthly and you are welcome to attend! Our next Rankin Centre members meeting is on Wednesday November 1, 2023 at 7:00pm.

WINTER CARNIVAL MEETING

We are looking for a group of volunteers to come forward to plan the Winter Carnival event for the community! We are always looking for fresh new ideas,
positive community connections, and people who are proud of this great community! We will hold a meeting
on October 11 at 6:00pm. Without volunteers we will not be able to have a carnival so if you can help please come forward!

BARTENDERS NEEDED

Anyone who would like to volunteer as a bartender, submit their updated Smart Serve certificate, or wants to ask any questions about volunteer bartending at Rankin is asked to contact Brittanie at 613-312-9552. This is a
great way to meet members of the community and get all the good feelings of volunteering while meeting new people from our community and making an extra bit of money as well!

TOY BUS – A MUST STOP FOR LITTLES

This is a drop-in program that runs on Friday mornings from 10:00-11:30. This is a chance for caregivers with children ages 0-6 to come and take part in programs and activities together, while interacting with other
caregivers and children.

MEMBERSHIPS

You can purchase a membership from our Membership Secretary, Cathy Grahl, 613-735-3381. Family memberships are $20.00 and single memberships (18 and over) are $10.00. Members enjoy perks such as free
admission to many centre events, a 20% discounts on rentals*, and a vote at all centre meetings and elections. 2024 memberships on sale now!!!

Congratulations to newlyweds Nicole and Tanner Goldberg and Lora-Lee and Shawn Davidson. We wish you a lifetime of health and happiness in your union together!

BOOTH WORKERS
We are asking for volunteers once again to work at the booth. We also need someone to manage the calling list for booth workers. This is a great opportunity for students to get their volunteer hours. Please reach out to
any member of the executive if you can help out or if you need any further information!

WINTER ACTIVITIES
Rankin Community we want to hear from you! Winter is ahead, and we would love to run some programming inside and out! We do need members to come forward to make this happen! We will have the ice pad on our
outdoor rink again this winter, so if you would like to organize some on-ice clubs/lessons/events, or have something you would like to run inside for our community members, please email us at rankincentre@rankincentre.ca and someone from our executive will get back to you!

RANKIN MANICURE CLUB

Come on out for some DIY manicure fun!! Nail polish – both strips and liquid – are available for you to try! Learn to DIY your own custom look! You can also bring your own favourite shades or swap an old one for a new one
to try! Come and check it out for yourself on October 15 at 1PM at the Centre! November 5th will be the next one!

RANKIN BOARD GAME CLUB
All are welcome to join this family-friendly game evening at the Rankin Centre! Board games are available, but you are welcome to bring your favourites as well to play with friends from the community! Taking
place at 7PM on October 20th at the Centre! November 10th will be the next one!

DON’T FORGET THE LYRICS TRIVIA
Trivia is back this fall!!! Join us for a fun-filled evening on October 13th. This will be a night to remember! Pre-register your team of 6, $10 per person, by October 8 to guarantee your teams table! Proceeds going to the
Rankin Centre for some time sensitive repairs to the Rankin Hall. Call Jessica at 613-639-5686 to RSVP.

CHILDREN’S HALLOWEEN PARTY
The Children’s Halloween Party which will take place on October 28th from 4-6. This will be a free event for our community! If you would like to help out with this, running a craft or activity, donate some decorations or
donate some sweet treats, contact Victoria at 819-651-1645.

MUSIC LOVERS – COME AND JAM!
The Rankin Jam is happening in October! This is an event open to music players, singers, listeners, and lovers! It is a chance to come out and play your instruments, dance, sing, and have a great time while
live performers lead the way! It is mostly country type music, but not limited to! The bar is open for Jam nights with all proceeds going to the Rankin Centre. Hope to see you there October 11. Doors open at 6:30PM, $3
entry fee. Will also be taking place November 8th!

RETURN OF MONDAY NIGHT EUCHRE
Monday night Euchre is back! Bonnie has once again organized this club and it is off to a great start. Anyone who is interested in playing is welcome to join, so follow suit and come on over to Rankin Monday nights at
7:00PM.

HUNTERS BALL
Our Hunters Ball is coming soon, and tickets are available now! Mark your calendar for November 25, then call Santana at 613-281-7696 to get your ticket today! This is a great fundraiser for the centre. Tickets cost $25 and include a meal and a dance. There is a Facebook page for this event where you can learn more, help to fundraise, participate in raffles, and get excited for the big event! It is called “Hunters Ball November 25th 2023”.

BIG BUCK CONTEST – SOME CHANGES
The Big Buck Contest is BACK!!! Santana is your contact for any questions/concerns – 613 281 7696. The weigh-ins for registration will be at Van’s Pet Food Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 9 AM – 6 PM starting October 5th and registration will be ending November 5th. The cost is $10 without purchase of ticket to the Hunters Ball, and $5 with your ticket. Tickets for Hunter’s Ball can be purchased at Van’s Pet Food when you go for the weigh-in. The last day to weigh in your deer is November 19th at 6 PM. The prize categories are Biggest Buck, Biggest Doe, Mystery Weight for Buck, Mystery Weight for Doe. The awards will be presented at the Hunter’s Ball November 25th
and a party to celebrate will follow complete with dinner, DJ, dancing, silent auction, and door prizes.

DELTA BINGO
We need bingo volunteers for the following dates, Please call Tracy as soon as possible if you can work for any of them:.
October 15 3:30-5:30 – 2 workers
October 29 3:30-5:30 – 2 workers
November 12 3:30-5:30 – 2 workers
We need more bingo workers to sign up to take the course to work at the Delta Hall. Call Tracy if interested, 613-281-3324. Our bingo shifts are a consistent source of revenue for The Rankin Centre, so we need your help. This is one of the best and easiest fundraisers we have. FOOTCARE CLINIC INTEREST
Looking for feedback if anyone would be interested in attending footcare clinics at the Rankin Centre with an RPN Advance Footcare Nurse? Advanced and diabetic footcare would be available. Anyone interested please
contact Sarah Neuman at 613-635-3412. Home visits would also be available if you cannot attend the clinic.

WELLNESS EVENT IN RANKIN
Veronda Brydges from Veronda’s Valley Vendors brings to you a Holistic Wellness, Metaphysical, & Spiritual Event on October 21st, 2023 from 10am – 5pm. There will be Psychics, Mediums, Healers, Tarot Card Readers
& More! Also a variety of vendors to shop from while waiting for your turn to have your cards read etc. Admission to the public is $2 & the proceeds will go to Whiskers & Alley Cats
