History Comes to Life – Bonnechere Union Library

History Comes to Life at the Library

Live theater and family workshops come to the Valley for one thrilling night!

Eganville, ON: Bonnechere Union Public Library has a unique fundraiser coming to the Valley on Saturday October 30th: Behind Glass: A History of Horror! This promenade, live theater show, put on by professional actors out of Ottawa, brings a historically twisted murder mystery and escape room event to the library. Venture in and outside of BUPL as you work with fellow audience members and the actors to try and discover which historical figure has been causing chaos in the book stacks! Edgar Allan? Joan Finnigan? H.P. Lovecraft?!

Two evening, one-hour shows (5:30 pm and 7:30 pm) are scheduled to accommodate the community safely, with a maximum of 20 tickets per show. Tickets are affordably $10 each and makes for a fun, spooky night out on All Hallows Eve! Costumes are encouraged, but not necessary. Tickets are ready and available at BUPL exclusively.

For families and kids, two workshops are also happening during the day, which means the library will be closing at noon to the general public. Workshops take place at 1:30 pm and 3:30 pm time slots, with a maximum of 20 participants, and requires registration. BUPL is offering these workshops for free but are happily accepting monetary donations at the door. Kids and families will work together to learn and create mystery theatre-type showcases. Costumes are also encouraged but not necessary. The library will have Halloween treat bags for participants to take home, too!

If you’ve got nothing to do on Halloween weekend, bust out a costume, come to the library, and prepare to be amazed!

For more information, tickets, or to register, contact the library during their open hours at 613-628-2400 or info@bonnechereupl.com

The event is finished.
