Waste Disposal
Waste Transfer Sites & OVWRC
Waste Permit Cards can be purchased from the office during business hours. They are $2.00 a square, $20.00 for half of a card or
$40.00 for a full card. Present your card at the sites or at Gate 3 at OVWRC to get marked. Cash transactions will eventually be phased out at the Transfer Sites.

Transfer Site Update
To comply with physical distancing protocols as required with the Covid-19 world pandemic staff will not be handling cash or stamping the blue waste permit cards.
Residents will be requested to place correct change into a secure lock box or personally mark their own cards with a bingo dauber or black permanent marker. Staff will provide direction and guidance through this new and hopefully temporary process.
Also, at this time at Berndt Road Transfer Site, the ability for residents to be charged by the cubic metre for waste will be suspended. This is to eliminate the exchanging of cash. It is also noted that within a cubic metre with a fee of $12.00, as many as twenty regular garbage bags could be brought to the site at a much lower rate than the $2.00 a bag charge.
Residents are asked to take leaf and yard waste to Ottawa Valley Waste Recovery Centre. Please call OVWRC for proper disposal directions 613-735-7537 or practice home composting.
