Waste Transfer Sites & OVWRC
Waste Permit Cards can be purchased from the office during business hours. They are $30.00 for half of a card or $60.00 for a full card. Present your card at the sites or at Gate 3 at OVWRC to get marked. Cash transactions will eventually be phased out at the Transfer Sites.

Transfer Site Update
Residents can place correct change into a secure lock box or personally mark their own cards with a bingo dauber or black permanent marker. Staff will provide direction and guidance through this process.
Residents are asked to take leaf and yard waste to Ottawa Valley Waste Recovery Centre. Please call OVWRC for proper disposal directions 613-735-7537 or practice home composting.

ELECTRONIC WASTE: (Computers, TV’s, etc.) & SCRAP METAL: can be dropped off at both transfer sites during operating hours at no charge.

- Computers
- Printers (desktop and floor-standing)
- Printer cartridges
- Video gaming devices
- Telephones, including cellular phones.
- Display devices
- Radios and stereos, including after-market vehicle stereos.
- Headphones
- Speakers
- Cameras, including security cameras.
- Video recorders
- Drones with audio or visual recording equipment
- Peripherals and cables used to support the function of information technology, telecommunications and audio-visual equipment, including charging equipment.
- Parts of information technology, telecommunications and audio-visual equipment sold separately, such as hard drives.
- Handheld point-of-sale terminals or devices
- Musical instruments
- Audio recording equipment
Not Accepted Electronic Waste
- ITT/AV equipment weighing more than 250 kg.
- Small and large appliances
- Power tools
- Motor vehicles
- Children’s toys
- Textiles, clothing, furniture or any other upholstered or stuffed articles containing EEE.
PROPANE TANKS, HAZARDOUS WASTE & FREONAPPLIANCES: Must be taken to OVWRC at no charge. Freon does not need to be removed.

- Plastic – large bulk household plastic items (childrens swimming pools, lawn chairs, outdoor toys)
- Pool covers
- Luggage and hockey bags larger than 9 x 14 x 22
- Mops, brooms, shovels, rakes ( non-metal)

- Construction & renovation material.
- Bathtubs, toilets, vanities
- Cupboards, counter tops,
- Sinks (non-metal)
- Concrete
- Drywall
- Flooring
- Vinyl siding, shingles
- Windows & doors
- Wood- lumber, plywood
- Wooden pallets.
- Plastic flower pots & trays.
- Clothing & textiles
- Hazardous or special waste – paint, propane tanks etc.
These items may be brought to the OVWRC – tipping fees apply.
