Waste Transfer Sites & OVWRC

Waste Permit Cards can be purchased from the office during business hours. They are $30.00 for half of a card or $60.00 for a full card. Present your card at the sites or at Gate 3 at OVWRC to get marked. Cash transactions will eventually be phased out at the Transfer Sites.

Transfer Site Update

Residents can place correct change into a secure lock box or personally mark their own cards with a bingo dauber or black permanent marker. Staff will provide direction and guidance through this process.

Residents are asked to take leaf and yard waste to Ottawa Valley Waste Recovery Centre. Please call OVWRC for proper disposal directions 613-735-7537 or practice home composting.

AGRICULTURAL PLASTIC AND BOAT WRAP RECYCLING PROGRAM

UPDATE December 20, 2023

Effective January 1, 2024, the Ottawa Valley Waste Recovery Centre will no longer be able to accept agricultural plastic or boat wrap for recycling. At this time, the established end markets that had received and recycled these types of plastics are no longer accepting materials for processing. The Centre will be accepting agricultural plastic and boat wrap as landfill material (current landfill tipping fees apply) from our Partner Municipalities ONLY (Petawawa, Pembroke, Laurentian Valley and North Algona Wilberforce).

Centre staff will continue to monitor market availability and possibly reinstate the agricultural plastic and boat wrap recycling programs should the recycling markets improve

ITT/AV equipment weighing more than 250 kg.
Small and large appliances
Power tools

Children’s toys
Textiles, clothing, furniture or any other upholstered or stuffed articles containing EEE.

PROPANE TANKS, HAZARDOUS WASTE & FREONAPPLIANCES: Must be taken to OVWRC at no charge. Freon does not need to be removed.
